CREST Center for Aquatic Chemistry and Environment recently hosted a career pathway panel for their students as an opportunity to learn more about various jobs and professions in the science field.
The panel discussion included Amanda Bourque, Ecologist with the Biscayne National Park, Maria Donoso, Coordinator of International Programs for the Institute of Water and Environment at FIU, Carlos Tamayo, Civil Engineer for the City of Miami Beach, and Kristie Sue Wendelberger, Outdoor Education and Outreach Coordinator at the Everglades Foundation.
The panelist shared their stories and experiences and offered professional and personal advice to the students as they pursue their future careers. The intent of the career panel was to show students the variety of options there are in the science field and inspire them to look for all the possibilities there are in their future. Following the discussion, students had the opportunity network with the panelist and ask questions about internships opportunities.
