The Exile Studies Program will host Professor Abena Busia, a Ghanaian born poet, scholar, diplomat and public intellectual, as our fall Betsy/FIU Exile Studies Scholar/Writer-in-Residence. A Professor of English and Women’s and Gender Studies at Rutgers University, Dr. Busia is currently on leave from Rutgers, serving as the Ambassador of Ghana to Brazil. Ambassador Busia’s lecture is titled Exilic Journey and Testimonies in the Age of Exile.

Please join us on Monday, October 8, at 6:45 p.m. in GC 243.

Welcoming remarks will be presented by Mr. Jonathan Plutzik, Chairman of The Betsy-South Beach and Dr. Heather Russell, Chair of the Department of English at FIU.
