Congratulations Professor Meri-Jane Rochelson

Meri-Jane Rochelson has published an important piece “Israel Zangwill and Oscar Wilde,” in The OSCHOLARS, the premier online journal on the Wilde and fin-de-siecle.

The piece is reprinted from her book on Zangwill and it presents students of Wilde and of the period with an important connection that many of people had not previously made.

Dr. Rochelson earned her PhD in English from the University of Chicago and specializes in Victorian and Late Victorian Literature and Culture, Anglo-Jewish Literature and Culture, Jewish Immigration Literature and History and Women’s and Gender Studies.

Dr. Rochelson serves as the associate chair of the Department of English and is on the Senior Advisory Council of the Nineteenth Century Studies Association where she reviews manuscripts and fellowship applications for a variety of journals, presses and organizations.
