Join the Department of English as they celebrate the launch of their new FIU Introduction to Literature textbook in collaboration with W. W. Norton & Company.
The FIU Introduction to Literature was carefully curated by your faculty to create the best educational value and the highest interest material for today’s Panthers. This book contains selections from Miami and FIU authors such as Richard Blanco, Denise Duhamel, Julie Marie Wade, and Ana Menendez, along with literary classics you’ll recognize, like James Baldwin’s “Sonny’s Blues” and Shirley Jackson’s The Lottery. The imagery and themes in these texts emphasize experiences in South Florida and the Caribbean. Faculty contributed study questions and wrote the biographical information on the authors from Miami and FIU authors. Everywhere you look, you will find names, images, and references you recognize. Rick Schwartz, an Emeritus professor within the Department of English, created the cover art, while Dr. Amy Huseby served as the General Editor.
Don’t miss out on introductions of contributors and desk copies of the new book.
Congratulations to the Department of English on this success!
