Open to all FIU students enrolled in fall 2018 AND spring 2019.
Previously unpublished submissions will be accepted in three genres: poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction. Deadline for submission is Friday, February 1st at 4 PM.

Prose submissions must be typed, double-spaced, twelve-point font, one-inch margins. Poetry should be typed, single-spaced.
- Fiction: one (1) story per entrant, not to exceed 7,500 words
- Poetry: limited to three (3) poems per entrant, not to exceed 250 lines total
- Creative nonfiction: one (1) essay per entrant, not to exceed 7,500 words
Prizes will be offered in two divisions: graduate and undergraduate. Graduate here denotes students in the MFA Program in Creative Writing. All other students should enter as undergraduates. There will be a first prize of $50 and an honorable mention of $25 in each category in each division.
Please submit two (2) copies of your work. Each copy should have a cover page with your name, address, phone number, Panther ID, e-mail address, category (fiction, poetry, non-fiction), division (graduate or undergraduate), and the title of your submission(s). Poets are to include all three titles on a single cover page.
Please note your name should not appear on any appear on any page of the manuscript. In addition, an electronic copy of the work should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
You may enter more than one category but must submit a separate cover sheet for each.
Keep a copy of your entries. Manuscripts will not be returned. Winner will be contacted by letter. Flyers announcing the winning entrants will be posted in English/Creative Writing suite the week following spring break. Awards will be presented and first place winners will read from their work at the annual student reading on April 4, 2019.
