The International Forensic Research Institute (IFRI), part of FIU’s newest preeminent Global Forensic and Justice Center will host the 8th annual Forensic Science Symposium on May 1-2, 2019 at the Modesto A. Maidique Campus.

This event brings together law enforcement agencies, industry and academia to share knowledge and training for laboratory professionals. Join colleagues from across the state of Florida for workshops, presentations and poster sessions. Agenda and registration information is forthcoming.

Submissions for presentations and posters are now being accepted by the planning committee. Proposed topics for the Symposium should focus on what impacts today’s forensic laboratories, including:

  • Accreditation and standards
  • Rapid DNA
  • Cognitive bias
  • Digital evidence
  • Opioid crisis
  • Recent research
  • Quality management
  • Other
