The American Chemical Society at FIU, the College of Arts, Sciences & Education and the College of Engineering & Computing have partnered once again to host the 3rd Annual STEMCon Undergraduate Student Success Conference on February 21, 2019.
This conference is designed to expose undergraduate students to important STEM-related topics such as:
- Career planning in STEM
- Getting started in research as an undergraduate
- Pathways into pre-health professions
- Graduate programs in STEM
The keynote speaker is Dr. Ranu Jung, whose Adaptive Neural Systems Laboratory has developed a neural-enabled prosthetic hand system helping upper limb amputees “feel” again, drastically improving control of prosthesis.
In an effort to further impact our students and community, STEMCon collaborated with Connect4Success by extending invitations to advisors and future FIU students from partner institutions such as Miami-Dade College, Broward College and Palm Beach State College.
STEMCon 2018 brought together over 250 students, faculty and community members to FIU’s Modesto Maidique Campus. If last year’s conference is any indication, then STEMCon’s third year is sure to deliver an engaging and meaningful event. All students interested in STEM majors and careers, join us and explore the possibilities!
Thursday, February 21st, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
