Chairwoman leaves legislative legacy

Chairwoman and the School of Integrated Science and Humanity alumna, Audrey Edmonson, is putting a spectrum of issues – including transportation, crime, gun violence, public housing, sea level rise, opioid abuse and preserving public land – on her priority list before her term’s 2020 completion.

As part of the Miami-Dade County Commission, Edmonson is not wasting any time, scheduling commission meetings on a structured basis. Commissioners have already passed the first two of many items she’s representing.

Edmonson, whose District 3 encompasses more than 10 Miami neighborhoods, has big plans to preserve land as undeveloped public land and limit potential private construction on public waterfront property.
