Alumna honored by Diverse Education

Dr. Margarita Bianco was recognized this year by Diverse Education as one of the top 35 women in higher education.

School of Education and Human Development alumna, Dr. Bianco has an interest in teaching young people with additional needs. In 2010, she developed a precollegiate program called Pathways2Teaching, which aims to encourage high school students of color to explore teaching and related professions.

Now a professor of education at the University of Colorado Denver, Dr. Bianco is the recipient of several Excellence in Teaching Awards at CU Denver, the Professional of the Year Award from the Colorado Council for Learning Disabilities and the Floyd G. Hudson Outstanding Service Award from the Council of Learning Disabilities.
