Thanks to the generous support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, The Humanities Edge at Florida International University will sponsor three $5,000 awards to develop and deliver innovative outreach projects that promote the humanities in public schools (K-12).

The competition is open to FIU faculty and staff in all humanities disciplines, including digital humanities, art + art history, history, English, philosophy, performing arts, modern languages, classical studies and gender and ethnic studies.

Funds will be distributed directly to the FIU lead, who will server as the principal investigator. However, the project may include as many collaborators as needed.

Applications close July 15, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. Winners will be announced by August 1, 2019. Funds will be available by the end of August and must be used by April 30, 2020.
