The Everglades Foundation provides scholarships for advanced research in support of the restoration of America’s Everglades. The Foundation is committed to supporting graduate research students actively pursuing the development of innovative scientific methods to advance the understanding of Everglades science.
The Everglades Foundation Scholarships are open to full-time graduate students from all academic institutions pursuing degrees in sciences and engineering. Applicants will be evaluated based on their research impact and relevance to Everglades restoration. Cross-disciplinary research efforts are of special interest.
FIU graduate students pursuing Everglades restoration-related research are also eligible for the FIU ForEverglades Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to full-time graduate students enrolled in or accepted for admission to FIU who are pursuing Everglades restoration-related research in the School of Environment, Arts and Society.
Scholarships provide up to $25,000/year that may go towards stipends, tuition fees, travel, and other research-related expenses. The amount of money associated with the scholarship is subject to change. The number of scholarships awarded depends on the number and quality of applications.
A checklist of items to be included in the submission package and research priorities can be found on the Everglades Foundation website. Applications must be received no later than August 31, 2019.
