Research on the origin of the eukaryotic cell

eukaryotic cell

The Simons Foundation’s Life Sciences division and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation’s Symbiosis in Aquatic Systems Initiative are jointly soliciting proposals for research on the origin of the eukaryotic cell.

This opportunity is open to applications from individuals or collaborative teams and to scientists based in the U.S. and internationally. They are seeking researchers who currently work on this topic, and hope to identify scientists and engineers who would bring novel perspectives, methods and technologies to this area.

Proposal Process:

For individual submitters, please complete the forms, uploads and surveys listed as “tasks” in the application. For team efforts (i.e. a proposal lead with one or more co-submitters), the proposal lead must complete the tasks on behalf of the team. This includes compiling biosketches and current and pending documents from all team members. However, for surveys, the responses should be entered only for the proposal lead.

Proposals are due: Monday, September 30, 2019.
