The University Graduate School hosted its annual Dissertation Writing Retreat in August in coordination with the Center for Excellence in Writing. Designed for writers who feel off-track or have a short timeline for graduation, the retreat gives participants tools and a quiet space to make substantial progress towards their dissertation.
Participants had the opportunity to create individual work plans, establish daily writing goals, spend each day on campus writing their dissertation while meeting with FIU Statistical Consulting representatives and faculty advisors from the Center.
The retreat is offered to advance graduate students twice a year. The next retreat is set for December 2019.
