FCE LTER Book Cover

Titled “The Coastal Everglades: The Dynamics of Social-Ecological Transformation in the South Florida Landscape” the book touches on the impact of ongoing restoration initiatives in the coastal Everglades region. It also looks at the role of sea level rise on the Everglades ecosystem, digs into the consequences of water management practices in the region and explores how other disturbances, such as fires and storms, could have an effect on the coastal Everglades environment.

All three contributing authors to this volume are collaborators on the FCE LTER program, which has been running since the year 2000. The authors include Dr. Evelyn Gaiser from Florida International University, Dr. Daniel Childers from Arizona State University and Dr. Laura Ogden from Dartmouth University. Many researchers and scientists involved with the FCE LTER program also contributed to the research and key questions that the book explores.

The book can be pre-ordered here. For more information about the FCE LTER program, please visit their website.
