Make an impact – volunteer at the Cape Sable beach clean-up

picking up trash at the beach

Everglades National Park is seeking volunteers to join the Cape Sable trash clean-up to help avoid nesting turtles and hatchlings get caught in the debris.

Brief Description:

This is a two-day event, on Oct. 19 and 20 workers will meet at Flamingo and ride on NPS boats to the site. Volunteers will be spread out across a 3 mile radius and walk along the beach picking up debris.

Location:
Everglades National Park, Flamingo and Cape Sable (Florida Bay)

This is a great opportunity to spend time in one of the more remote areas of the park helping baby turtles get to the ocean safer and with less hindrance.

To participate at the Cape Sable clean up, volunteers must submit the volunteer form to Brian Hutchinson or Grace Hevey.
