Julie Drevenkar recognized with Living Our Values Award

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection recently recognized Julie Drevenkar with the Living Our Values Award for her contributions to continuous water quality monitoring to protect natural resources. 

Drevenkar is one of 12 Institute of Water and Environment staff members located at the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) headquarters in Naples, FL. As laboratory and water quality program manager, Drevenkar oversees the water quality component of the national NERR System-Wide Monitoring Program and manages the on-site laboratories.

She shares her expertise in water quality monitoring by teaching staff at regional Aquatic Preserves on sampling technique, instrument maintenance and data management. 

The award recognizes Devenkar and the state-wide Resilient and Coastal Protection Coastal Water Quality Assessment and Integration Team. Led by the Department of Environmental Protection, the team is working to integrate water quality and other monitoring programs at aquatic preserves throughout the state.
