The Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program supports graduate students, particularly women and minority students, who are studying marine science, marine archaeology, marine social science and resource management, and other relevant disciplines. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of National Marine Sanctuaries manages the program and offers up to two years of support to masters students and up to four years of support to doctoral students. Through 2017, 89 percent of Dr. Nancy Foster scholars have been women and 17 percent are minorities. Ninety-three percent of the former scholars currently work in a STEM field.

Applications for the 2020 Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship program are now open through December 6, 2019. Learn more and apply here.
