Being a parent isn’t easy, but it can be less intimidating with the right help.

FIU’s Center for Children and Families is partnering with The Children’s Trust to host free Parent Club workshops.  The goal of the workshops is to help parents and caregivers of children 0-12 years old in Miami-Dade County learn effective parenting strategies, ask questions about raising their kids and share their experiences.

“Parenthood can be tough and parents are often confused and frustrated by the seemingly endless challenges at every developmental stage,” said Erika Coles, clinical director at Center. “These workshops are great because it teaches parents basic building blocks of positive parenting to improve the parent-child relationship.”

The Center’s experts are hosting some of these free workshops at the Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC) and Biscayne Bay Campus (BBC) making it more convenient for faculty, staff and students to attend.
