Become an Engineering Specialist II

The Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection is seeking a Statewide Coastal Engineer of Geologist. This is a full-time Engineering Specialist II position in the Coastal Engineering and Geology Program. This is an advanced technical position responsible for providing technical support in assisting with the implementation of laws, regulations and policies of the Joint Coastal Permit, Coastal Construction Control Line Permit and Beach and Inlet Management Programs of the State of Florida.

Minimum requirements include:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in coastal engineering, coastal geology, geology with coastal track course concentration or related coastal studies degree.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Applicant must have the ability to:

  • Evaluate and interpret scientific or technical data.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in a tactful and courteous manner.
  • Travel, conduct field investigations and collect technical data.
