The Center for Children and Families offers free parenting webinars

Being a parent isn’t easy, but it can be less intimidating with the right help.

FIU’s Center for Children and Families is partnering with The Children’s Trust to host free Parent Club workshops online. The goal of the workshops is to help parents and caregivers of children 0-12 years old in Miami-Dade County learn effective parenting strategies, ask questions about raising their kids and share their experiences. In addition, parents and caregivers will receive top parenting tips for parents and caregivers facing these uncertain times.

“Parenthood can be tough and parents are often confused and frustrated by the seemingly endless challenges at every developmental stage,” said Erika Coles, clinical director at Center. “These workshops are great because they teach parents basic building blocks of positive parenting to improve the parent-child relationship.”

The center’s experts have been hosting the workshop webinars entirely online since early April, making it more convenient for faculty, staff and students to attend from the comfort of their homes.
