Stay connected with Camp Inspire

Social distancing in light of the global pandemic may have suspended many traditional summer experiences, like FIU CASE’s Camp Explore and Discover, but it doesn’t mean that kids have to stop having fun while learning.

During the month of July 2020, jump into scientific inquiry and investigate the furthest corners of the galaxy with FIU CASE experts – all from home – with Camp Inspire.

How does virtual camp work?
Hosted on Zoom, sessions are broken into age groups and facilitated by trained Education Outreach staff. Experiences include:

  • Interactive demonstrations
  • Guided hands-on activities
  • Virtual field trips
  • Chats with experts
  • Games and more

Once registered, parents will receive Zoom links, schedules and digital resources along with a camp packet in the mail that includes activity sheets for the week.

Starting Monday, July 6 and running through Friday, July 30, camp sessions are held for 90 minutes each day. Campers are broken into two age groups except on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for virtual field trips and expert chats.

  • Jr. Investigators (Ages 6 – 8)
    • Monday, Thursday and Friday (11 a.m. 12:30 p.m.)
    • Tuesday and Wednesday (1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.)

  • Explorers (Ages 9 – 12)
    • Monday, Thursday and Friday (2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
    • Tuesday and Wednesday (1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.)

Each thematically driven week connects campers with real research and each other to stay engaged while learning and having fun.

Give kids a chance to connect with others their age while learning about the incredible world they live in. Interested? Register today or visit for more information.
