
An Earth and Environment alumna recently received support from the National Science Foundation to study how ore deposits that are highly valued for their economic potential are formed.
Adriana Potra, who graduated from FIU with a Ph.D. in geosciences in 2011, is now an associate professor at the University of Arkansas. She is leading the study on Mississippi Valley-type ore deposits, which account for approximately 25 percent of the world’s lead and zinc resources.
