COVID-19 testing

The Bureau of Public Health Laboratories in Miami is seeking recent graduates to provide diagnostic testing for SARS-CoV-2.


  • At a minimum, applicants must be eligible for licensure with the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel as a public health technician.
  • The basic requirement for this license is possession of a bachelor’s degree in one of the chemical or biological sciences. For more details on licensure, visit this website.
  • Applicants must also be able to wear respiratory protection and be comfortable working with potentially infectious human specimens, including those containing SARS-CoV-2. These positions are for the 2nd and 3rd shifts.
  • Ideal applicants will have prior experience working in a biological laboratory environment. 

These are temporary, OPS positions but do offer benefits, including health, dental and life insurance. Pay for these positions is $16 or $17/hour depending on the position selected for.
