Anti-racism book sales spike in U.S.

People are turning to books to learn more particularly about race and anti-racism following the death of George Floyd and the demonstrations that have followed.

College of Arts, Sciences & Education Senior Associate Dean Heather Russell, a professor of English literature, expressed how people, especially white Americans, are trying to make sense of what’s happening.

Many have turned to books by African American authors to understand their perspective and listen to their voice. Some of the best-sellers include “How to Be an Antiracist” by Ibram X. Kendi and “Me and White Supremacy” by Layla F. Saad.
