Campers experience Catalina Island

virtual field trip to catalina island

This summer, Camp Inspire kids experienced virtual field trips with local organizations and ones not so close to home.

Campers virtually traveled to California’s Catalina Island, where they learned about the adaptations of the plants and animals that live there.

“Catalina’s virtual field trip took campers to a new place to see and learn about environments that are different from their own,” said Analisa Duran, Education Outreach program coordinator for the College of Arts, Sciences & Education. “They were able to draw connections between animal adaptations and the habitats they live in, whether it be in Miami or Catalina.”
