Ron Magill Conservation Scholarship

The Ron Magill Conservation Scholarship is an annual award of $5,000 given through the Zoo Miami Foundation each December.

To qualify, applicants must reside in Miami-Dade, Broward or Monroe Counties. They must be a high school senior with proof of acceptance to a college or university or a college/university undergraduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and a career objective in the wildlife conservation field.

This award was conceived and created by Ron Magill and is made possible through the Ron Magill Conservation Endowment at the Zoo Miami Foundation. Its main purpose is to inspire and support the development of young adults who choose to major in the life sciences with a goal of establishing a career in wildlife conservation.

Applications are accepted through Sept. 30 and must include:

  • A statement in 500 words or less as to why you are choosing a career in wildlife conservation
  • A current CV or high school resume
  • A letter of acceptance from the college/university you will be attending or a current transcript your college/university with your GPA
  • One letter of reference
