The mission of OIC of South Florida is to be the community-based leader in providing quality self-help skills, training and employment opportunities for disadvantaged and underemployed residents, thus assisting them to become self-sufficient and productive members of society

The facilitator/care coordinator will support OIC’s Sexual Risk Avoidance Education Program (SRAE), which includes evidence-based prevention curricula: Love Notes and Relationship SMARTS Plus (RSP) paired with positive youth development and trauma informed educational approaches serving at-risk youth ages 10 to 21.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Effectively deliver evidence-based curricula for program participants, reinforcing age-appropriate language and medically accurate instructional strategies.
  • Assist the community outreach & mobilization coordinator in identifying and securing middle and high schools, alternative schools and community-based sites to host SRAE educational programming for project youth.
  • Coordinate strengths-based youth development activities.
  • Employ trauma-informed educational practices.
  • Ensure program activities remain inclusive, promote cultural and LGBTQ sensitivity as well as enforce anti-harassment protocols.
  • Enter enrollment forms, classroom attendance and fidelity monitoring logs into program database on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Assist team in coordinating educational support meetings for parents of project youth.
  • Assist in coordinating and attending special events.
  • Review the most current CDC, NIH and state and local vital stats to ensure program materials adhere to medical accuracy and report any findings to the programs manager.
  • Prepare monthly reports, develop and maintain project resources.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, training, psychology or related degree.
  • Minimum of one to three years of relevant experience in education, counseling and/or providing training, mentoring, support to at-risk youth.
  • All applicants must be able to pass a level II background screening as required by the Broward County School District.
