Covenant House Florida seeks outreach case manager

Covenant House Florida is a nonprofit organization that serves at-risk homeless and trafficked youth living on the streets of Florida. The Fort Lauderdale campus serves youth from Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties.


  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work history, preferably with at risk adolescents.
  • Demonstrated understanding of conflict resolution skills and demonstrated ability to maintain order and exercise appropriate judgment in crisis situations, including the physical ability to intervene in critical or emergency situations.
  • Must possess effective written, verbal and listening skills with a demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to culturally diverse populations.
  • Must be able to meet agency standards for attendance and punctuality.
  • Must have valid Florida driver license and good driving record.
  • HIV/AIDS 401 certification preferred.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Conduct outreach to help street youth utilize appropriate community resources.
  • Educate local businesspersons, law enforcement and other appropriate groups/organizations as to the mission of Covenant House.
  • Ensure the principles of open intake are maintained and youth receive the highest quality of care.
  • Supervise residents, maintain order and exercise good judgment at all times.
  • Provide assistance with residential activities, events or other assigned tasks.
  • Communicate pertinent information related to youth in need of services to intake case manager or intake/outreach supervisor.
  • Ensure adequate tracking, documentation and reporting data and statistics are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Participate in special projects which enhance and expand street outreach delivery of services.
