GreenLatinos is a national network of Latino environmental and conservation advocates. The GreenLatinos’ Climate Change & Clean Air program manager will lead GreenLatinos Climate, Clean Air, Methane and Mercury programming with support from GreenLatinos staff.
The GreenLatinos Climate & Clean Air Program seeks to recruit, organize, educate and mobilize Latino communities to advocate for just and inclusive policy-making, actions and solutions that address the historic barriers communities experience in their efforts to advance Climate & Clean Air priorities.
These priorities include but are not limited to the following:
- Recruiting GreenLatinos members to the Climate & Clean Air working group.
- Advocating for broad and bold climate action at the federal level.
- Amplifying climate and clean air solutions proposed by GreenLatinos’ Latinx partner organizations.
- Advocating for communities impacted by climate change and extreme weather.
- Prioritizing the health and safety of the most impacted communities, including fenceline communities and frontline workers.
- Reducing methane waste and pollution from oil and gas development.
- Reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
- Eliminating disproportionate pollution from power plants and other sources in environmental justice communities.
- Promoting equitable access to clean energy solutions and economies.
- Supporting anti-racist policies that address issues that intersect with climate and clean air policy, including but not limited to housing, equal pay and healthcare.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Must hold at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of work experience.
- Dedication to anti-racism, equity, diversity, inclusion and justice in the environmental movement.
- Experience working with climate and clean air issues.
- Experience working effectively with diverse communities.
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely via writing and verbally.
- Must have a personal laptop computer and cell phone to use for work.
