
Loggerhead Marinelife Center offers exciting and rewarding career opportunities and internships. They are currently seeking a programs coordinator who will be directly responsible for the design, development, implementation and quality assurance of both free and fee-based campus educational programs associated with Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC).
Qualifications:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or hold a minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience leading environmental education programs, preferably in the traditional classroom, lab and field environments.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and be well-organized.
- Experience with program evaluation techniques and early learning development principles in addition to knowledge of Florida’s coastal ecosystems and current ocean conservation topics is essential.
Job Responsibilities: Includes, but not limited to the following:
- The management and effective implementation of free and fee-based programs.
- Responsible for maintaining the scientific integrity of programs under respective purview.
- Create, develop and implement campus programming in alignment with LMC’s Oceans of Opportunity initiative.
- Serve as primary supervisor for Marine Science Educator team, providing support and workplace learning opportunities for program facilitators.
- Provide innovative and effective evaluations for campus programming to enhance program effectiveness and measure impact.
- Coordination of evening Sea Turtle Sleepover program.
- Facilitate education programs as needed.
- Collaborate with education team to lead VIP tours of the facility for special guests.
- Work collaboratively with the marketing team for creative ways to promote new and existing programs.
