Wetland Ecosystems Research Lab seeks student lab technician

The Institute of Environment us currently seeking a student lab technician to join their team of professionals. This position is available in the Wetland Ecosystems Research Lab under supervision of Drs. Edward Castaneda and Elena Solohin.

Duties include:

  • Preparing and processing laboratory samples for nutrient analyses using standard protocols.
  • Cleaning, preparing and sorting of wetland vegetation and soil samples.
  • Grinding and preparing vegetation and soil samples for nutrient analyses.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience with basic laboratory equipment preferred or keen willingness to learn.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Organizational and time-management skills are essential.

Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six credits as an undergraduate student or three credits as a graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.
