FIU CCF Summer Reading program seeks tutors

The Summer Reading Explorers program at the Center for Children and Families is seeking certified teachers to be summer reading tutors.

The program helps rising kindergarteners and first and second graders improve their reading skills. 

Certified teachers must have reading intervention experience and field experience working with children in school, after-school or summer settings. Each tutor will provide 30- or 45-minute small group reading instruction to eight groups (with no more than five children per group), assessing individual student progress, communicating with parents, assisting in parent engagement activities and data entry.

The dates of employment will be eight weeks from June 14 through Aug. 7. Tutors will work a minimum of eight hours per day, Monday through Friday.
