The FIU Institute of Environment is hiring up to two student communications associates to join their team of professionals.
The student communications associates will work closely with the institute’s communications director to spearhead digital and science communications. The student associates will also support the institute’s Florida Coastal Everglades Long Term Ecological Research program and CREST Center for Aquatic Chemistry and Environment program.
Duties include:
- Working with members of the institute to help develop, publish and disseminate written products that describe institute programs and opportunities.
- Writing news stories about institute research and projects to bring awareness to these initiatives – this will include writing for CASE News and FIU News and will include projects related to the FCE LTER program and CREST CAChE program.
- Creating visually engaging materials that inform various audiences about institute research and educational initiatives – these could include infographics, brochures and flyers.
- Working on the institute website and social media pages to maintain an extensive multi-purpose website and interactive social media channels. This will include weekly social media posts for institute programs and regular maintenance of the institute’s website content.
- Supporting institute events which may include tabling for events, managing webinar platforms, creating event materials and representing the institute at virtual or in-person events.
