Miami Waterkeeper seeks program coordinator

Miami Waterkeeper is seeking a program coordinator to join the education and outreach team. An ideal candidate for this role will have a deep passion for Miami Waterkeeper’s mission and will be highly skilled, detail orientated, independent, exceptionally organized and self-motivated.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative outreach events and activities to increase the visibility of Miami Waterkeeper, engage the membership and community, and provide meaningful volunteer and educational opportunities
  • Lead day-to-day operations of educational programs and events for students and community members
  • Serve as organizational lead and point of contact for students, parents, schools, community members, program partners, volunteers and special events
  • Seek out and coordinates partnerships with community stakeholders to promote ad support educational program initiatives
  • Develop curriculum and educational materials as needed to support Miami Waterkeeper’s program objectives
  • Manage program web pages, event landing pages for RSVPs and community groups

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience or equivalent combination
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Google Drive, basic computer operations and comfort with communicating via phone, email and Zoom
  • A demonstrated passion for and interest in environmental science, marine conservation and/or clean water issues related to South Florida
  • An interest in and experience with community outreach, education, leadership and volunteer organizing
  • Past experience with youth programs and environmental science curriculum development
  • Excellent organizational skills — organized and detailed, ability to manage multiple projects independently
