The Jones Center at Ichauway invites applicants for an assistant or associate scientist in hydrogeology with an emphasis on improving our understanding of hydrologic connectivity in complex southeastern U.S. landscapes.

The center is interested in an individual who can contribute to an interdisciplinary research program investigating water resources in the southeastern coastal plain. The candidate should have a Ph.D. and experience in conducting field-oriented studies that integrate multiple data sources with hydrologic models to better understand the flow of waters in and among soils, wetlands, streams and rivers. Knowledge of and experience in karst systems is highly preferred. The center is especially interested in candidates whose work considers the role of subsurface geology and soil heterogeneity in studies of which includes other center scientists, university collaborators, agency scientists and private stakeholders. The ability to apply scientific findings to regional water conservation and management priorities and communicate with regional stakeholder groups is preferred and will be facilitated.
