SEAS seeks student environmental programs assistant

The School of Environment, Arts and Society at the Biscayne Bay Campus is seeking a student environmental programs assistant to join their team of professionals.

Duties include:

  • Assisting with the development and delivery of STEAM based K-12 education and outreach programs.
  • Regularly attending team planning and creative sessions.
  • Assisting with on-campus environmental projects including the living lab and touch tank.
  • Planning and preparing presentations and activities for classrooms, student organization projects and K-12 camp programs.
  • Assisting with on-campus and community-based programs.
  • Assisting with content creation for digital platforms.
  • Assisting office manager and directors with day-to-day operations as needed.
  • Assisting with additional projects as needed.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within first 30 days.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of PC operations and specialized software.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with highly sensitive information.
