The Early Head Start (EHS) is seeking a technical assistance specialist to join its team. The specialist will be a model and mentor responsible for supporting the implementation of the Head Start Performance Standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures technical assistance services align with the Head Start Performance Standards to meet the individual needs of EHS providers.
- Works collaboratively with the education team to develop areas of expertise and provide targeted assistance based on the unique and evolving needs of the EHS providers.
- Works collaboratively with EHS partners to connect EHS providers with additional support and resources based on the unique needs of the provider.
- Assists EHS providers in achieving accreditation/re-accreditation.
- Works cooperatively with other agencies to meet the needs of families and children served.
- Coordinates child and/or family referrals.
- Provides support services of children’s transition plan.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field required.
- One to two years of classroom experience in early childhood or a related field is required.
- Bilingual (Spanish/ Creole) preferred.
- Computer skills required, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be willing to travel to all areas, as needed, within the South Florida areas to perform required tasks and provide own reliable transportation. Requires a valid Florida Driver’s License, a good driving record and automobile insurance, as required by the Early Learning Coalition driving policy.
